Those words are certainly daunting, and I've heard numerous fringe groups use them over the years, calling out Clinton, then Bush, and now Obama as getting the nation ready for martial law. But the insanity going on right now, with black men being wantonly killed by police and then innocent police in completely different cities from those two most recent killings, like Dallas being shot by snipers or that asshole in Georgia with a fake 911 call, leading to tonight's street and possibly even freeway blockages by Black Lives Matter protesters, is spiraling in a way that could truly head for trouble.
Is there any way that the anger can be directed at the specific officers or officials in charge of the officers who kill innocent people? Like any faction anywhere, the vast majority of cops are good, brave people, and killing them randomly for the sins of a few is ridiculous and sickening. And if we do go down the road of madness to martial law, the blame will come down on these kinds of street-shutting protests as well as the real psychos like the snipers.
We are better than this, people. We can and must demand better of the justice system, but in 2016, with police and military technology developed to the Nth degree, don't think that they aren't looking for a way to test-drive it on us in some way.
Don't give them the excuse. Let's find other ways to force change and to fight the power.
